Rolling Shutter is a digital sensor readout method that exposes an image frame line-by-line rather than all at once. Because it scans sequentially, tiny time delays between the top and bottom of the sensor can create unwanted distortions—such as skewed vertical lines or a “jelly” wobble—when filming fast-moving subjects.
